Before u read:
One of the memorable incident in my life...do read n Enjoy.
While going 2 words Jahangir Hospital u will come across a small hotel called “AMBA” at the signal. A hotel with my memories of gr8 tragedies n miseries, located almost on the footpath. So let me begin my KISSA which i experienced two years back.
As usual my friend and I were bored of college n wanted to spend some time outside the prison (4 us college is PRISON, so don’t worry am not any kind of Criminal :D). So Bramhe n I started walking from our college towards a medical shop to buy some medicines from the chemist near Jahangir Hospital. It was a really KOOL day!!! (around 12:30 - 1 in the afternoon) to roam around on Kennedy road in the scorching heat is nothing but foolishness.
Finally we got to the chemist shop n Bramhe collected some pricey ‘eye drops’ for him (I think he never used that solution for contact lenses, did u Brahme??? It cost awful around 1000 bucks). We got back from the shop n started trailing back to the college. I was so hungry that I would have eaten Bramhe up if we wouldn’t have found tavern .v rushed to “AMBA” nearby. Finally we got success in crossing that busy road n stepped into the hotel. The overall condition of the HOTEL (actually it should b called TAPARI, but somehow owner is managed to make the place in Hotel) was ****. Couples of heads were busy with chatting n having snacks.
The hotel boy ‘SANTOSH’( heyy I always call such waiters with some typical names like vijay, sachin, dinesh, ganya etc etc n I always get surprised as all of them respond to my call lolzz) comes to us (in front of the door of the hotel) with a grinning face. V pondered over the menu-card for couple of mins n finally ordered “IDALI SAMBHAR”. So two hungry faces looking at each other n njoying Traffic idli sambar and the AQUA purified water (I had seen AQUA water guard in one corner of hotel, but am sure the water was TAP water) with the background music of bikes racing along the road, cars honking and the din of heavy load trucks rushing across the street. After some time ‘SANTOSH’ come up with huge tray with two small dishes of IDALI with 2 very small bowls of chatani’s. He placed the dish on our table while SETH was observing his activities n reading our facial expression. SANTOSH disappeared after filling up half full (guys, be optimistic in life!! Hehehehe) glasses of water.
We had just attacked the IDALIS n no sooner had I gobbled up a couple of morsels than an old shabby, stinking, frail, beggar came to us n grabbed my dish. She went and sat on on a nearby table n started greedily gobbling the stuff. Me n Brahme stared at each other n thinking what the **** is going on?????? I was completely bewildered…holding my spoon was still in my right hand n Brahme equally horror struck , was staring back at me.
The beggar was old woman in her 50s with dirty clothes. ohhoo my god!!!!! both of us were scared n Santosh was watching the whole episode with an uncanny expression. She (Beggar) was eating very fast as she was starved for days. Then v ordered another dish. The owner yelled at her and beat her up badly, but she was too busy gobbling with her unclean hands. Santosh put the new dish on our my table. and now it was my turn!!! I started cramming morsels of food into my mouth at double speed. We were expecting that she may b take our new dish also, so with fear we completed with IDLI’s n planned to escape from the **** place as early as v can. We feared she would grab our second dish as well and so we hurriedly finished our idlis so that we could escape from that ***** place as early as we could!
In the meanwhile, she(beggar) finished “HER” dish and after washing her hands in her dish, she drank a 2 glasses of water. Now we observed that she was bearing a completely different and satisfied expression on her face as she happy with food then she ran away out of the hotel . But swiftly escaped from “AMBA” successfully. v were actually rush back to prison awfully, looking towards each other with sacred faces.
Now, each time I pass by “Amba” hotel, I remember our bewildered faces and have a hearty laugh. But this laugh does not yet give me the courage to step into “Amba” again.I would suggest u guys (its not actually a suggestion but an warning don’t dare to go to “AMBA” at any cost n if u go (there r always some exceptions to all good suggestions n admonitions) don’t sit at table which is in front of door, or b prepared for another weird and wonder”fool” scene.
